The Owl & the Pussycat

Poetry is a great way to see the rhythms and sounds of a language in an authentic manner. Today we'll look at EDWARD LEAR, a man who had many artistic talents and was well known for his nonsensical writing.

The Owl & the Pussycat
     This is a nice video just to watch about "The Owl & the Pussycat".
      Here is another cute video.  "The Owl & the Pussycat".

Here are some examples of his limericks:

There was an Old Man in a tree,
Who was horribly bored by a Bee;
When they said, 'Does it buzz?'
He replied, 'Yes, it does!'
'It's a regular brute of a Bee!'

There was a Young Lady whose eyes,
Were unique as to colour and size;
When she opened them wide,
People all turned aside,
And started away in surprise.
